Alan Broadbent Senior Consultant Accident Investigator North UKAlan Broadbent is a Forensic Collision Investigator and Vehicle Examiner and our Senior Consultant for the North of the UK who boasts 40 years of vehicle experience with 26 years of police service and 12 years of Forensic collision investigation.  He joined West Yorkshire Police in 1979 initially as a Motor Vehicle Technician. Alan then transferred to become a Police Constable in 1986 and joined the Roads Traffic department in 1998. From this point is was a natural progression for him to join the Collision Investigation Unit where he remained from 2002 until his retirement in 2012.

Having set up as an independent consultant Alan was approached in 2013 to join the team at Wayman’s. He was attracted by the variety of work as he enjoys the challenges that each case brings.

Alan describes himself as outgoing and avuncular with a very customer focused approach.  He enjoys the layers of challenges that come from the route through a road traffic accident investigation and the process of objectively combining these to a conclusion.

Since qualifying as a Collision Investigator, Alan has achieved numerous further qualifications and memberships, among them the following;

Full Member of Society of Engineers (M.S.O.E.)

Full Member of Institute of Road Transport Engineers (M.I.R.T.E.)

Alan lives in West Yorkshire where he is (in his own words), “amongst the muck, looking for the brass.” In his spare time he enjoys DIY, travelling, walking and spending time with his family.
